Discover Šolta

A Calm Island in the Adriatic

Šolta is widely known as one of the most peaceful islands in central Dalmatia. Unlike many larger coastal destinations, the island has preserved its relaxed character and natural beauty.

Our guests often tell us that what they appreciate most about Šolta is its calm atmosphere, small seaside villages, clear Adriatic waters, olive groves and a slower Mediterranean rhythm that invites you to slow down and enjoy the surroundings.

If you appreciate these same qualities, Villa Talia offers a setting where privacy, comfort and the authentic character of island life come together naturally.

Arriving to the Island

Šolta is reached by ferry from the city of Split. The ferry operates between Split and the port of Rogač and the journey takes approximately one hour, with several departures daily during the summer season.

We usually recommend purchasing ferry tickets online in advance through the official Jadrolinija website: https://www.jadrolinija.hr/

From Rogač, Villa Talia is about a 15-minute drive to the quiet bay of Donja Krušica. If you need any assistance with directions before arrival, we are always happy to help.

Exploring Šolta by Boat

During their stay, many of our guests tell us that spending a day exploring the island by boat becomes the highlight of their week.

The coastline is full of quiet coves, crystal-clear swimming spots and small bays that are best discovered from the sea. A private boat allows you to explore the island at your own pace, stopping for a swim in secluded locations or visiting nearby coastal villages.

For guests interested in boat excursions, we often suggest contacting two local providers who operate directly from the island and have received excellent feedback from previous visitors.

Both companies offer half-day and full-day excursions around the island, as well as private transfers to destinations such as Trogir or Split.

If you contact them, feel free to mention that you are staying at Villa Talia. In many cases it is possible to arrange boat pickup directly in front of the villa, which makes the experience particularly convenient.

While the sea naturally becomes the centre of many days on the island, there are also several traditional experiences and villages worth exploring during your stay.

Other Experiences on Šolta

The island has a long history of olive cultivation and beekeeping, traditions that are still very much part of everyday life. Visitors who enjoy learning about local culture sometimes visit places such as Agroturizam Kaštelanac, known for its olive oil and traditional Dalmatian cuisine, or Tvrdic Honey, a well-known local producer of the island’s characteristic rosemary honey. Quiet roads also make the island suitable for cycling, while scenic coastal paths offer enjoyable walking routes.

Another pleasant way to explore the island is by visiting its small villages. Stomorska is a charming harbour village known for its relaxed evening atmosphere and waterfront restaurants. Maslinica, on the western side of the island, is famous for its marina, nearby islets and beautiful sunset views. Grohote, the historic centre of the island, offers a glimpse of traditional island life with its stone houses and narrow streets. For guests interested in discovering even more activities and places on the island, additional inspiration can be found on the official Šolta tourism website.

A Relaxed Island Stay

For many of our guests, the perfect week on Šolta is wonderfully simple: morning swims in the bay, relaxed afternoons by the pool, a boat excursion along the coastline and quiet evenings in nearby villages.

It is precisely this slower rhythm that makes the island such a memorable place to stay.
